Icelandic patent applications to the European Patent Office (EPO) have never been as many as last year or 76 in total. That is 23% increase from the year 2024 and 81% increase from the year 2023. On a per capita basis it is 20 application per hundred thousand inhabitants in the year 2025 and places Iceland in 14th place among EPO member states.
